About Us

The Sovereign Military Order of the Knights Templar is a chivalric association of patriotically minded Christians who find inspiration in the highest ideals of the medieval Order of Knights Templar, founded by Hugh de Payens and eight companions in Jerusalem circa 1118.

Being a Knights Templar means living a life of purpose and meaning and by taking a stand for what is right in our families, community, and nation.   It means being part of an ancient holy order that has been around for 895 years. Being a Knights Templar is not a remnant of the past; it is a way of life.
 
Our membership standards are purposely very high, our time commitments are not for everyone, and our dedication to defending the faith and our people across the country requires significant expectations that not everyone can meet. For those who qualify, the Sovereign Military Order of Knights Templar offers an unequalled World-class Chivalric Order with an international network.
 
We are currently in 30 States in the U.S. and multiple countries Internationally.
 
Investiture into our Order is a great honor and brings with it great responsibility. The history of our Order for almost a thousand years is filled with examples of heroic service to our Lord, and the spirit of service in fulfilling the mission of the Order today is no less important. Indeed, circumstances around the world call for a renewed dedication to our Mission.

Our Order seeks and expects the highest of character from its membership: good moral character, preferably civically active in their community, and/or active in charitable/philanthropic endeavors. Persons convicted of crimes or of questionable moral character may not be admitted within our Order.

We are a serious Order and require serious people, not cranks or fantasists who merely wish to use our status to glorify themselves.

As Templars we are all brothers and sisters and you enter into a lifelong commitment supporting the work of our Order as far as your personal circumstances allow.
 
We are a Christian Organization and as such we reject all forms of racism as anti-Biblical and reject all forms of political hatred no matter from what end of the political spectrum it comes from. We firmly believe in the dignity and humanity of all people regardless of color creed, ethnicity or political persuasion. This does not mean we necessarily agree with them or their beliefs but as committed Christians we are convinced of the principles of free speech, lawful assemble and freedom of expression for all mankind without fear of persecution.
